In a way I think it adds a certain character to the image, but the other part of me thinks it might be even more powerful with really sharp lines and deep shadows. But the available light may not have allowed this. Either way, you have a really nice image here, Nikolay.

There was a lot of that grainy duotone stuff being done by professional portrait photographers in the early seventies when I was really getting into photography as a young teen. There were articles galore on how to produce that effect in the film in the darkroom.
