Sorry for multiple posts on the subject.

But I went to the photo store today and they had a discount on the Benro A1570T with a B0 ballhead, the total price were $260.

Has anybody tried out the tripod? It seem quite sturdy and like a perfect upgrade from my current Velbon DF-60.

I can only say you will get a much better Benro travel angel for cheaper if you buy from an established eBay seller.

For $260, don't get that. Push your budget a little to $360 and get this instead (I spent quite a bit of time at the benro store and tried a variety of their tripods, the a1570 isn't great, the c26xx are very nice):

You can get the aluminum A2682TB1 for about $200- way better than the one you are thinking of. Add in about $150 and you get the CF version.

Unfortunately due to high taxes and import prices it's gonna cost me at least $575.

Can you tell me what the main difference is compared to the A1570T? :-) It's gonna cost me $320 (I assume it's this one (external link)).

The A1570T is much lighter, seems stable and travel friendly. I don't have a car, so all my travel is either by bus, train or bike. Thus weight is a priority.

The A2682 transforms into a monopod or a walking stick, is way more stable with a better ball head and about 4.5 lb. I got the CF version which weighs a pound less.

I have the C257 which would be the thicker and carbon fiber version of the one you were looking at. It's not exactly travel friendly. It's quite long compared to the traveler tripods when folded. You have to be conscious of it while walking down aisles. I can see it being a problem on a bike as well.

The advantage is it only has 3 sections, so the smallest leg will still be quite thick. To get the traveler tripods to the same height, you need to extend 4 or 5 sections. The last section will be quite skinny. Usually, the more sections extended, the less stable the tripod is. There's a trade-off, and you have to figure out which is more important to you.
