Well I got to use EOS-M today, and not a quick play in a shop either.
One of my students bought one in, and I spent a good 20min playing with it.
Very nice little camera, a LOT smaller than I expected, especially with the 22mm lens on it.
The LCD is easy to use, and the camera is very easy to hold and feels nice in your hands.
The AF IS slow. It is that simple. How slow? Well I have an A80 compact from 2003 and it felt that slow. If she brings it again next week I'll see if I can give them a race, but I wouldn't put on it.
Your not going to be snapping of photos in single shot mode the way you can with an SLR.
That said, in face detect mode it was faster, and quite usable for shooting people just sitting around. The continuous AF was also very effective, much better than I expected.
It would work well for video, and being able to focus using the touch screen was nice and worked very well.
Would be awesome for still life etc.
The biggest problem I found with it though was it was inconsistent, sometimes it would focus faster than others, often on the same subject.
The controls and interface etc were typical canon and easy to use, the touch screen is fast and responsive and quite intuitive.
I'm very tempted to try find one locally, even with the kit zoom lens its quite a compact little package.
