it's fastest with the little zoom.. only slightly slower with EF lens (I tried my 70-200 mkII).. also faster using the screen to focus and AF single

I agree....1.2, 1.4 and 2.0 all seem to struggle to find focus. Focus speed increases with 2.8 zooms. Maybe canon will come out with EOS-M1DS. lol

Its sucks being an early adopter. AF hype is real....The AF system is the major letdown to a stellar effort. Not recommended for kids sports, or anything that has a moving subject. The effort required to focus on a subject spoils the overall experience. But If your committed to EOS only, unfortunately this is the only game in town.

Yep - I am waiting for EOS-MX or EOS-M2 or the Sony RX1-Zoom.

Repeated from before - I still have the same ratings for the camera but edited for kids that move down along with travel.

Here are my rating for the EOS - M

yeah I'll get V2 of this cam as well... until then I will enjoy v1... set in M and with high enough shutter speed you can stop moving action no problem... you just have to think ahead of the action... yes harder but possible.

the face tracking is pretty cool

DigitalRev is a joke in my opinion. I don't think his photos are that great anyway.

+1bw!

If your watching DigitalRev for the photography, your missing the point.
