Not supposed to be released until the 29th, but alas, you can download it early! ;-)a

It looks reasonable and the upgrade offer at £59 is not bad, still debating if I should upgrade or not?

I've updated mine. 8.01 came out this Wednesday. They've reorganized some of the panels compared to 7.x and the software seems to work fine. I'm not finding that I like the much touted "smart lighting" feature. I find I get results that please me more using the DxO 7 setting which thankfully is still there and works the same.

Try using the smart lighting setting in combination with the selective tone controls.

I loved the image quality in V7, but the speed and workflow were awful.

And in Pro8 You can choose to have sliders for exposure, highlight, midtones, shadows and blacks :)
Now I don't have to mess with the "crappy" Smart Lightning slider which almost newer gave me the result I expected - now it's predictable - and that alone is basically worth the upgrade.
I think both DxO 7/8 handles my 7D files very nice, great noise handling and no square patterned lines...

Regards :)
