First no pictures. Then that was fixed. Told you were drinking, but no details on what you were drinking. This is madness!

Haha, it wasn't anything good I'm afraid to admit! Just a crate of Stella Cidre´ my brother got me, and some other horrible concoctions of spirits etc! Normally a real ale and real cider/perry drinker! I hope this puts your mind to rest!

Drunk, don't care to edit, random images -- but we are supposed to take the time to comment?

I never said I don't care to edit them, I just said they aren't edited yet. And i've merely thrown them out there, and asked for a bit of advice on how to make them a better shot or how to edit them, as I said, I'm new to this world. Get off your morale high horse, and don't comment if you won't want to, I didn't tell you too did I?

Thanks, yeah the more and more I look at the second one I'm beginning to realise it's not really much of a photo. Might just chop it and make it look like a panoramic if I can, that might make it a little easier to look at.

I like the way you're thinking there, already trying to find ways in which to improve what you've done... but you could also just delete it and try again with a more interesting subject ;)

Well you are started. You will have loads of fun taking and editing pictures. Personally I like for pictures to tell a story. Your first picture does. As mentioned earlier it is kind of moody, soft and possibly even a little mysterious. The second one just shows you when to look out for lens flair.

Best of Luck and
Keep Shooting
Mike

Advice. Don't shoot drunk and post. Being an amateur is perfectly fine. Being a drunken amateur comes off as childish and not serious.

I am serious....and don't call me Shirley.

Yep...especially when you brag about it as well. Any drunk idiot can press a shutter and take a photo. Posting the result online and bragging about it takes someone special.

It depends on the individual. Some of my best Vegas pictures were taken while I was intoxicated on the strip. Of course, I was only shooting for myself, having fun, and not being serious. Had it been a job, I would not have imbibed. So it depends on the situation as well.

Welcome to POTN!
You may want to look into some of the subforums (there are a bunch). I think you'll find a post like this would be better suited to one of those.

Keeping snapping away and having fun!

Oh and surely being amatuer, is the point of not being serious? No?

Brelly, if you really want help, don't mention that you were drunk when taking the photos and you have not made any attempt at editing them. Basically, you get taken seriously when you come across seriously. In my opinion, and it appears a few others, your first attempt at posting some images for critique was not truly a serious attempt.
