Just a few shots of my son from his jr. prom last year, her HC and his HC this month. I'm not really happy with how any of them turned out. If you have suggestions I would appreciate it as her jr. prom and his senior prom will be here before ya know it and I wanna get better shots... and perhaps different since they are always the same. There really isn't anywhere nice around here so it will be the same spot probably. Problem is the time they do it the sun is usually in their eyes and I don't know how to avoid that? Thanks.

The vignette is just a killer for all of the shots that have it. I would lose that like a bad habit. The shots that don't have it appear to be fairly overexposed and there is one that you actually caught what appears to be your shadow on your subject. Need to be careful with that.

Realize too that, to a great degree, photos are personal preference. If you and they are happy then that's what counts.

You mention that you are not happy with them....how so? I wouldn't be happy with them for the reasons I stated. I presume you added the vignette so I'm guessing you like it. Far as shooting with the sun in their faces, position them with the sun to their backs and use a reflector or fill to light your subjects.

Remember what the DorMouse said.....feed your head.

good composition but as saea501 said, the vingetting and having the sun on their faces isnt the best idea.

Thank you for the cc. The overexpose could be my pp too. My monitor is calibrated but it's been a really long time and it could be off. I'm not good at positioning I definitely need work on that. I wanted the water behind them so I wasn't sure how to position them. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

The composition and everythings looks alright actually, in line with what everyone else has been saying, I agree that the vignette should be removed.

Nice young couple. I do think the images appear over sharpened.
