I got this shot of my mom last week while at her house. I know I've got some background issues, but any comments/ critiques welcome.

Otherwise, I like it. Deleting account.... can't deal with morons on here. I was on here for a long time and the people in the beginning were kind and helpful. wireburn Member 141 posts Joined Dec 2005 Location: Michigan, USA More info | I think it's a great shot and I would leave the background just the way it is. I have some shots I took of my Grandmother in the chair she usually sat in with all her letter writing & embroidery/tatting next to her and I think those details add tremendously to the photos. I don't know if the mug collection is your mother's, but it places her in her home setting and tells a little more of a story. Just my 2¢. Doug

I'm going to play with it a little more and see what I can come up with ( like blurring the background, etc.) Life is good. Photograph it.

Because of the angle and her seating position, the head is further away from the camera than any other part of her body, so it looks disproportionally small. In contrast, the legs and hands look too large. - 20D - Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 - Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 - Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 -
