Thanks for all the comments, everyone, I really appreciate them!!
John: I completely agree with the crop...I tried and I tried to crop it tighter, but nothing was to my liking, so I decided that that was the "best crop" for this shot. But then you posted what you did and that got my brain gears turning again, and then I realized that I was looking at this thing all wrong. I had been trying horizontal crops, and those just didn't work...so I tried a vertical crop...what do you think???

I like it much better...let me know if you do too...and thanks for you post, this is the kind of positive, helpful feedback I love receiving!!
As for landscapes...sadly Korea isn't exactly a scenic country. For one thing, it's all mountains, so you won't get any sweeping landscape shots. Your best bet is to find a mountaintop and take landscape shots of other mountaintops, which can look good, thanks to haze/pollution.
Seascapes can be very nice, though...Korea has coasts on 3 sides, and they're all awesome. I'd highly recommend Jeju...I absolutely loved it there. They call it Korea's Hawaii (perhaps a little too optimistically)...you may not be blown away by it since you live in the real Hawaii, but it's wroth visiting, I think.
Otherwise, take a look at my Flickr (

) and browse through my shots to see if you like any of the locations. I have tried to geotag the pictures and put up location descriptions, so hopefully that can be of help to you. And feel free to message me anytime about shooting in Korea, I'd love to help in any way I can!
