Space Shuttle Enterprise and the 24-105

I visited this today, awesome sight!

Some have been wondering about the new 24-105, this shot was taken with it. The IS is spectacular, the photo specs are as follows: 47mm, 1/15 second, f/5.6. All handheld. You can't tell from this little shot, but the quality is great. I'm going to have an 11x14 print made, can't wait!

Don't you just wish you could get in there when there's no-one else around and take that shot again ?

great you are enjoying the new lens

I've been thinking of replacing my 24-70 f2.8 with that lens.

But, I kind of wish I had the 16-35 over my 17-40 for that extra stop.

Maybe, just maybe the extra reach of the 24-105 would justify the 1 stop loss.

Besides, my 24-70 doesn't see that much use.

Oh, yeah, almost forgot, great shot. I'm a huge space fan. Some say used to be a space cadet.

You know, you can always photoshop the people ouf of the picture.

Wow, great shot! Are those leading edge wing sections missing because they used them for impact testing after the last shuttle broke up? I thought I read or heard some place that they used the leading edge wing sections from the Enterprise for that purpose.

I'll try to get to the comments here. This was taken at the Air and Space Museum Annex in Virginia, on the grounds of Dulles International Airport. Yes, the leading edge of the left wing had been removed for testing after the incident. Well, that's all I can remember now, so thanks again!

i saw the documentary where they tested leading edge. can't remember if they were back-up parts? from this photo (which is cool by the way! especially handheld!) it seems like the parts could have come from here.
