My wife really liked the shot below so I wanted to get a nice print for her. There seems to always be discussion about how large an image can be enlarged, so I thought I'd go big. The shot below is actually cropped a bit to exclude extraneous stuff, then upsized to 7500x5000 pixels...the example is a tenth of that. The result I received today (printed at 250DPI) is excellent...I believe I could have applied even a bit more sharpening for the larger print.

I wish I could show the actual print...I am very pleased. It is crisp, balanced...no complaints. So, in my opinion, depending of course on the shot and parameters, a 20"x30" from a 20D is very doable.

Great shot. I recently had a 20x30 test printed using Shutterfly and it turned out wonderful. It was taken with my 350D and no cropping or post processing. I was very impressed with the resolution and clarity! They do not offer glossy for that size tho :(. For 25 bucks, try it.

This was the shot I used:

I like that! I did mine in matte from Cord Camera which had a 33% off enlargements which menat about 24.00 with shipping.

With these two experiences it would seem to me that the enlargment capabilites are under-estimated by some...let's blow those pix up big!

If you get 2 prints or more, www.elcocolor.com (external link) charges only $10 a print for 20x30. I just got 10 done - 6 were assorted sizes that I cut by hand, and 3 more were test prints. I did get one print done, a 20D, and it's definitely darn nice.

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.
