The Rockford IceHogs hosted the San Antonio Rampage for two games, one a Thursday tilt and a few days later for a Sunday rematch. The following images are from both games with links at the end to the full galleries. C&C always welcomed and appreciated.

Great assortment Todd, really looks like the angle of the stands allows some great angles at 300mm. Its pretty unbelievable how well the 1Dx fairs with noise there considering how poor the lighting is.

Love #s 1, 2 and 6.

Thank you both Chris and Rick.

And Chris, you know exactly what the lighting is like there, so thank you for the compliments on the images. The 300 mk2 and 1Dx make such a great couple, that's for sure.

And after seeing a few photos from other photographers from that game, its not hard to say these are easily most visibly appealing images I've seen from that arena. That I'm sure has a little to do with the PP also though :)

Nice work Todd!

I wonder if the Barons scheduled to play in your barn?

Thanks Chris. I think most people shoot through the glass there, so they tend to get a little less than perfect images. Except for Jim who uses lighting, but that's different =)

@Joeblack - The Barons are scheduled to come to town in January. It would be great to see Eberle, Nugent-Hopkins and possibly Hall (if he's off the IR by then) and the NHL doesn't lift the lockout. I'm all for having an NHL season, don't get me wrong, but it would be a nice treat to see those guys.

@joeblack - Great news! Really looking forward to seeing him in action!

@burnet - Yes, all of these were taken over the glass with the 1Dx+300 2.8 mk2. I do have some shots in my galleries (listed at the bottom of the first post) which have a few shots taken from through the glass at ice level. I believe only one or two in the this set, however, the previous weeks many were from through the glass.

The image quality of these are terrific, and you also captured some great action.

He's fun to watch. I saw him play a lot in the OHL with Windsor.

Great series. Really like the shots of the net from this perspective. These are images I can aspire to capture.

Thank you for the compliments, it's much appreciated. All it takes is practice and knowing when/where to look!
