Couple of ND / CPL filters.. And on their website it says that their main address is in N.Y.. does this mean I won't be getting my items for at least a couple of weeks (even though my delivery time says 4-6 business days) because of the storm going on in N.Y at the moment?

I'm from Australia.

It's a possibility your order may be delayed for quite a while. Parts of Manhatten are flooded badly from what the reports are saying.

I would definitely count on a delay if they haven't listed it as shipped yet. NYC got hit pretty hard. BH is right in midtown, so flooding isn't an issue. The thing you have to worry about is how long they will be without power.

They where closed yesterday and will probably be closed again today, also keep in mind the UPS and the USPS are also closed due to the weather.

Barring any power problems I would think things should be getting back to normal by the end of the week.

From UPS.

Hurricane Sandy Causing Delays Along Eastern Seaboard

As Hurricane Sandy barrels ashore, UPS remains committed to the safety of our employees and the protection and delivery of your shipments. We are moving shipments to their final destinations as quickly as possible and making every effort to deliver to all areas where conditions permit.

Severe weather has already impacted service in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

We’re working to redirect shipments and secure facilities, equipment, vehicles, and aircraft, and UPS meteorologists continue to monitor the storm.

We will continue to give you the most up-to-date information on ups.com (external link), so check frequently for new developments (external link) and tracking statuses (external link).

The UPS package guarantee does not apply when transportation networks are disrupted due to causes beyond UPS’s control.

hmm.. it was a couple of filters.. (ND / CPL) nothing big.. I hope everyone is okay over there.. I don't need these filters immediately, but would be nice to have them soon.

Hopefully by next week I guess.

Hi MJ - B&H has a pretty strong sense of customer service with a deep and loyal customer base due to their ethic.

If they're delayed it is likely for a very good reason. Count on some sort of delay due to a variety of weather related factors - postal/UPS issues, flooded roads, downed trees and power lines - but you should receive your order without too much delay.;)

I ordered a new 60mm 2.8 Macro lens and hood from them last Friday but I don't expect to get it anytime soon. That hurricane is huge and it's one for the record books. My thoughts and prayers are with those who are affected.

Plus, if you ordered on Friday it would have been prior to their closing for the Sabbath.

Also made an order on Friday and it has yet to ship. Surely weather related.

What time did you place the order?

I didn't know that. This is the first time I have ordered from them.

Yes - while I'm sure the weather is a factor, they post on their website that they are closed for the sabbath from Sundown Friday to sundown the next day.

FWIW their order system will not accept orders during that time, an item can beplaced in a cart but not checked out until they re-open.

I thought that their main warehouse is in New Jersey. Not that that makes a difference, of course, it's still hurricane central.

I would be honestly surprised if there's not a delay. Either from them and/or from the shipping company. In a case like this I would be completely understanding. If it were something that I needed immediately for business, I would have ordered from a reputable west coast company... if I had the foreknowledge, of course.
