By itself, I doubt it, but if you package it with anything else, especially a camera, you can get a great deal. I bought the lens alongside my 5DIII and BH gave me an extra $200 off for the whole package which was nice.

For what its worth, the lens is worth every dime even at $2099.

The most it will go up is another $100
In the next year(12 months) you may see it down another $100

So right now the price is right in the middle and being able to use it is worth the slight fluctuation you may see.

Read the reviews anywhere, you never see a review less than a 9.5

So get it now.

I ordered mine, as soon as NYNY dries out they'll ship it.

It will go down, just a matter of when it will go down.

It will drop further in the near term...after the NEW Tamron 70-200 is released, especially if the Tamron continues receiving the great reviews mentioned on Canonrumors.

Went ahead and got it from best buy for $2,099.00 a few days ago. B&H's sale on them ends today, so I assume that Best Buy's price will go back to the regular as well. So far I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. Next on my list is the 5DMKIII, and another speedlight. And hopefully I'll be content for awhile. The price of that lens used on eBay is CRAZY "Might as well buy new!" It's good to know that they hold there value really really well. But I do have a 30 or 45 day price match guarantee so I will still be on the lookout. Thanks for all the replies fellas! I hope someone will have a nice Christmas sale so hopefully I can get a couple hundred or so back. But if not I'm still happy.

Ordered new from adorama today. Between mrrebates' 3% rebate, adorama's 2% promo and a 1% credit card cash back option, it will cost me ~ $1981 shipped. :-)

Was going to hold out for another deal but I figured it won't get much better than that for a while.
