That all depends on how much it adds to the kit price- if it's $1300- people won't be selling it for $750- I think the 24-105L will go up 2nd hand

Funny how with every Canon release, Nikon just seems like the path to take...(I know, I know another on the fence photographer).

Come on tony with the crazy suits you build. You can afford to buy canon and nikon gear for everyone in this thread.

Because I watched the Centurions constantly when I was growing up lol

Anyways, $1500, Yeah, Ok, Canon... Anything I say about it is expletive laced...

Haha, not many people recognize it. Also used to watch it as a kid.

The surprising and only amazing thing about this lens, is that there is so much talk about it.

Meh..

A 24-105 meant a lot of people only ever needed to own one lens but that's going to change now. This new lens should sell a lot of 70-200 f/4's.

Big dreams, small wallet.

Why is the 24-70 f4 more expensive than the 24-105 f4? This doesn't make sense at all

Sure it does, Canon has to recoup its losses from the last quarter...

They didn't lose money, profits were just down 40%. But that's a big difference from losing money.

True but to a lot of executives "profits are down" mean "we lost a ton of money" it seems..

The point is well made, however. Canon is struggling. What we don't know is if their struggle is in proportion to the industry and market.

Considering these left-field announcements I wouldn't be surprised if Canon continues to trend down regardless.
