I was once again out shooting trains, when this beautiful bird all but posed for me over the field next to the tracks. I could have used some extra reach on a few of them, but the 100-400 proved able to get some good shots. It was just before dusk when they come out to hunt I guess. I love the red eyes these birds have.

It disappeared into tall grass, then took off away from me with whatever was it's dinner to go eat in a tree at the opposite side of the field. I will have to bring some bigger artillery to this spot next weekend
