I love the einstein lights, but i feel that PCB hasn't done them justice with their range of modifiers.. so i'm thinking of getting the Kacey adaptor and purchasing some of the deep octas / rotalux range of soft boxes from Elinchrom..

Has anyone else here done this before.. do the heavy deep octas / soft boxes hold up fine on Einstein with the Kacey's PCB to Einstein adaptor?

The Elinchrom modifiers are nice, and I've tested a few.
In reality, the Fotodiox EZ-PRO octal, with a Kacey adapter ring are just as good.

I did a relatively exhaustive comparison between the EZ-PRO 36" octa and the Elinchrom Deep Octa. Its essentially impossible to tell the difference.

Both were mounted on an Einstein, the Elinchrom via a Kacey adapter.

For one thing, the flat Kacey adpater ring means the flash tube is deeper in the Fotodiox EZ-Pro compared to the Elinchrom Deep Octa on the Kacey mount. Elinchrom makes a big deal about the position of the tube relative to the mount. with the flat Kacey adapters, the Einstein tube is just as deep.
