Owned a few light meters and this by far is my favorite. Yes, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles like the 7 series Sekonic (had one before but frankly, I don't need spot meter, etc) but this one's firmware upgradeable so lots of potential (assuming Sekonic adds more features in the future).

Sold my L-358 although I rarely use light meters. Between the two, it is night and day in terms of ease of use (I didn't even have to read the manual). Is it worth it? Depends on your "wants". A L-358 will do most a L-478 can do but what it doesn't have is the touch screen (I love touch screens) :D

I'm surprised not many POTN'ers use it. Any users here?

Been waiting for mine to come in 478DR, the rep was in my local shop doing a demo ordered one right after. I like the part that you can profile a camera with it. And iso up 409k not that we have a camera that will go that high.
Looking forward to using it.

Touch screen is exactly why I won't be getting it.

Just noticed that the DR will participate in ControlTL.
That means it will remotely control power for Einsteins with MC2 modules and also with Speedlites attached to FlexTT5s.
Also, ABs via AC9 and Flex or Elinchroms via the ControlTL module. (for Elinchrom I think its model specific.)

Sounds really nice.

Upgraded from a 378 too and loving it. Waiting on my spot viewer to arrive now and then it'll truly be my all around MVP!

What is wrong with touch screen? The demo unit was awesome, responded well to touch and was not overly sensitive. Actually seemed better then my iphone.
