Here are a few more pics of the female anna's hummingbird. Still not getting any break in the weather so I have to shoot these at high ISOs.

Never get tired watching these little gals.

Awesome shots! Hummingbirds are quite an addictive subject!

I did some experimenting which needs to continue. Used a laser trigger to catch these and a few others. 100mm f2.8L Macro with high speed flash.

Thanks yipDog. Laser trigger? Sounds high tech to me, what is it? :)

It's a Patchmaster 3 in 1.
Bought it to do lightning pics but realized it's also designed as a laser trigger. Point a laser at the sensor and anything that breaks the beam triggers the shutter. I had the beam shooting across the feeding hole which worked great til the wind picked up and the feeder started moving! When I get more time I'll do more with it.

Awesome shots... jealous. My hummers are gone for the winter so it gives me more time and motivation to get ready for their return!

Sublime shots, in every way. Color, clarity, compositions, background and great subject isolation. Wall hangers, the lot of them.

They're great pictures and I'm absolutely amazed at the quality of even your iso 3200 shots!

Jo, your photos are amazing! I still have an Anna's here out and about, but haven't been able to get her at the feeder!

you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

Great shots, Jo. I was going to post some of mine. Now I would be embarrassed. Those high iso's came out excellent. I don't dare go over 800 with my camera body.

These are so beautiful Jo, the high ISO is not showing at all in these web images. I think the low light is possibly a good thing with these amazing diffraction colours.

Those are great, Hummers are very hard to get. I have not had any success with them in flight.
