Got a chance to shoot with a really fun family at an amazing location(I could have made better composition choices in regards to the subjects and clutter in the backgrounds......horizons also). Here are a few images and the full set can be seen on the blog @ the link below

Thanks for looking!

Lovely set, shame about the horizon. Any way you could extend it so that it's all sea? I guess it might look a bit unnatural.

I really love the last one! :)

Thank you for the comment, it's much appreciated. This was a big group with several young children, add that to a rapidly closing window of sunlight and as you can see by some of the images........I was rushing. The eldest son who had arranged the shoot was very pleased with the final images so everything turned out fine in the end. Another experience to be learned from...

The chaos...haha! (alright, it wasnt that bad -- lol)

Great family portraits. Really love these. I also love the last shot of them all rushing around to get ready.

Nice stuff. I like 4 & 5. Nice balance of ambient with flash. I laughed out loud at the chaos shot!

Really nice set! I've actually been wanting to shoot something similar to this over here on Oahu for a while but no willing subjects to practice with (yet). What was your lighting setup if you don't mind telling? Looks like off-camera bare flash in some, but maybe a diffuser in others. Again, really nice set here.

Hey tak0eye and chloeP
I have a question for both or anyone that can answer is fine.
I have seen a couple of threads in the past but never asked.
What I'd like to know, and for my own personal future reference, why is it a flaw to have the horizon trough head?

I am a learn as I go person this is why I ask. Not knowing the real reason if I was tak0eye's client I'd say that all pictures are awesome, and they are btw nice job, just want to gain a little more knowledge on what to look for when I'm in the field.

Thx

4,5,6 are my favorites...

Two YN560 II's. Yes, some shots were bare and others were bounced of the bounce cards. I had umbrella's but it was windy. Controlled by Phottix Stratto II Trigger Reciever set.

Im trying my best to save up for a more state of the art lighting system!

A lot of people would say that it's a distraction (its like your eyes are drawn to lines and so forth). While editing, I just felt like the backgrounds were a little to busy for me with all the outcroppings of rocks and stuff. BTW, thanks for the comment!!!

Tilted horizon? Sounds like a good excuse to go back and reshoot ;)
