Your "share" is over a month late:

Since that post there were also many others.

A quick search before posting would have revealed that.

The official email from Nik just went out, so it's still appropriate to share this, as their new policy on sharing email addresses and account info was just revealed. You can opt out of the sharing of info with Google, but you will no longer be able to have your Nik products supported.

He is probably referencing an email from NIK/Google to their customers, which was just sent out yesterday.

Original thread (and my response to the email):

Some may question my thinking. To me, Nik software is just another tool in my toolbox. There is little to nothing there that cannot be replicated by someone else's piece of software. If I have to throw away Nik's tool because of lack of support, I can pick up another one elsewhere from someone who does not collect & distribute my information like Google does. I'm not bound to them and I sure as hell don't want them monitoring my business through my software.

I sent a reply to Nik this morning outlining my intentions to not upgrade my software, purchase new software or to use my existing software beyond its now shortened lifespan. I suggest anyone else who is unhappy with Nik's decision to transfer your info to Google do the same.

As an alternative to ColorEfex, I suggest Topaz Adjust (external link).

I'll second that, as I had switched from Nik to Topaz some time ago. I also agree with your stance on Google's info collection practices.
