I really wanted to buy the non RT version because I already have Phottix Odin, thus I don't want to pay extra for the built-in RT that I'll never use anyway.
But I had a difficulty trying to find one in Australia.

Tried searching on Amazon & eBay but no luck so far.

Has anyone actually able to purchase the non RT version of 600EX? Especially in Australia?

Or did Canon decide to discreetly discontinue the non RT version?

The non RT was only going to be available in selected countries which did not approve the radio system. Try UK retailers otherwise.

But why not wait a little longer for the Phottix Mitros flash though? You get the same features at half the price, and future compatibility with the Odins is pretty much guaranteed.

I think its fairly safe to assume they will be available in the next month.

Phottix Mitros is actually my 3rd choice if I really can't get the 600EX non-RT or a cheap 580EXII though.
But I'm still a bit skeptical about the odd-shaped power plug, which doesn't look like it's compatible with Canon flash external power pack.

I don't know why they did their own proprietary plug, but they come with Canon and Nikon plug adapters so that you can atleast use either pack if needed, which is a bit of a bonus. Will wait and see what they are like anyway.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Canon will be releasing a non-RT sooner than later since the 580 EX II is supposedly due for being discontinued (this from one of my sources that deals heavily with Canon)
