you're not getting enough water. those lines in your cornea should be smoother on the edges.

Very interesting shot.

How did you do it ??

For this shot I used the MP-E 65 and a 60D. I set it up on a tripod, and used the 60D flippy / swivelly screen to see what I was doing in Live mode. I had a speedlite positioned at an angle, rather than right in front of me. I had another set up on the other side but it kept missing shots because the batteries were running out. Both had those little diffusers on, and larger ones, one homemade and one a polaroid one that is meant to hold flash gels. Even though on flash didn't fire, the diffuser seemed to act as a reflector.

The camera was at a high so it was level with my eye when I knelt in front of it, and then using a remote trigger I took individual shots to judge the focus, then when I could see I was pretty much in the right place I'd fire off ten shots while very slightly moving forwards.

That is why I would not consider upgrading from my 60D at the moment. I use it so much.

Looking into whether it is possible to use the phone as a remote controller. If possible that should for now fix the lack of a swivel screen.
