Considering leaving the fold: Anyone gone 5DII > D600?

Has anyone here made the switch from 5DII to Nikon D600?

The price/dynamic range capabilities of the D600 have me seriously considering the move, despite my beloved 135L. I do have small concerns about Nikon QC as I have been reading a lot about dusty sensors/flawed shutter curtains.

Has anyone here switched who would like to comment?

Thanks.

Not really a fair comparison between a new Nikon D600 and an old Canon 5D Mark II. I have a couple of friends with the D600 and both of them are having QC problems. You may want to wait until the Canon 6D comes out before making the switch. Remember when changing brands, you are also buying into their lenses as well.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

A friend of mine who is a long time Nikon user bought a D800. He had so many QC issues with it he sent it back. Then he got another D800 which was much better but still had QC problems. So he sent it back as well. After much thought and admiring the pictures from my 7D he decided to switch to Canon. He bought a 5D MIII and several L lenses. He used them for about a week and decided he was just more comfortable with Nikon. So he purchased the D800E and it seems he finally got a good copy so he is happy as a lamb. He sold off his Canon stuff on e-bay to recover as much of his money as he could. So it seems if you are willing to put up with some QC issues and don't mind returning things a few times the switch might work out for you.
