Hi Paul...

Great photograph. I'm a sucker for minimalist work, though I've seldom succeeded in my photos. This one is really inspiring.

Hi Tom

Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it. :-)

I guess one of the side benefits of being confined to home, is being forced to expand and explore new areas of photography. I'm learning a lot...who'd a thought it? :-P

Did you use a filter to get that diffused light Paul?

Hi Gene. I had a 45" octobox shooting through my home made scrim...a shower curtain. Lol

This is great. I think photos like this would be great printed and hung as art work. VERY NICE. Curious as to your set up? Particularly the background and how you have it standing up? I actually just called my local camera shop to rent a macro lens for just this type of project, but they are closed due to the Coronavirus.

Anyway..... Great shot!!

Thanks a lot!

I stuck the seed in a piece of homemade clay/playdoh, to hold it in place. I placed it in a saucer of water. The background is a string of Christmas lights hanging on my backdrop. The lights were reflecting off the liquid on the saucer.

You might try Lensrentals.com for a macro lens. Or, you could just buy a cheap set of extension tubes (everybody has them) and you'll be good to go. Ill be interested to see your results.

Thanks for the info. I've been watching a lot of videos on just this subject. I'll check out Lensrentals as well.

Thanks again. Love your shot.
