Oct 02, 2016 21:03 | #1056 I'm not sure these photos belong here, as they might be categorized more as images randomly taken with a macro lens vs. a traditional, intentional macro close-up? I bought this lens to play with taking extreme close ups, and so far I really suck at it, lol. I am impatient and have trying to take hand-held images in natural light. Finally I had the camera on a tripod and found I could be sneaky and get pics of my camera-shy cats from a distance in low light - as long as I was on the tripod. So...I am learning that tripods are my friend (this lens is very heavy for an old gal like me), light is also my friend, and that I want to take the lens out and take long shots of landscapes and plants with shallow DOF and see what I can get. Here are my cats taken in very low light from about eight feet away. This is my first macro lens and I look forward to having a fun learning curve ahead of me : ) Image hosted by forum (817187) © coatfetish [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW.
