And despite that, you can STILL never find the correct size when you need it!!

What better excuse to make a run to the hardware store. ;-)a

I can still remember the very un-politically correct saying I learned in high school radio shop that aided in knowing the sequence the color code values stood for as resisters. I had radio shop 1962 last. :-)

HS (a technical school) for me was '79-'83. As freshmen, the electronics teacher taught us the 'official' version of the color code, then with a wink and a nod said to ask the juniors about the 'other' one where race changes to something else and Violet is much more friendly as opposed to very fast on her feet... ;-)a

Needless to say, we found the second version much easier to remember...

Of course. To buy more stuff to put in the jar to be unable to find next time you need it. Necessitating another trip to the hardware store. For more stuff for the jar. And eventually you need another jar, because the first one is full of the wrong stuff. So again you need to go buy more. Lather, rinse, repeat, ad infinitum...

Cross section of PEX-Al-PEX tubing (used in radiant heating systems). The aluminum layer acts as an oxygen barrier to reduce corrosion in the boiler and other iron containing parts of the system. Actual outside diameter of tubing is about 5/8" (~16mm):
