I got the 24-105L about a month ago and up until now either the weather have been bad or I've been working.
But yesterday morning i woke up to 300mm of snow (about 12" I think) and the sun was shining from an almost clear blue sky - time to try out that shiny new lense
This was also the first time my 20D saw snow, so I was worried about overexposure and thus ended up underexposing some of the shots.
They did brighten up fine in rawshooter, but some a little to noisy for ISO100.
Anyways, here are the samples. All are handheld, raw converted with rawshooter premium. Whitebalanced and autoexposure added, otherwise straight from camera - parameter 1, no extra sharpening or saturation:

Like others I was really torn between getting 24-70L or 24-105L. Before 24-105 the choise was easy, but now it's almost impossible to decide.
In the end size, weight, reach and IS made the decision for me, but i do miss 2.8, sigh...
But looking at the photo's makes me (almost) forget this craving and i've bought a used sigma 28mm F1.8 that will arrive shortly.
OK - time to bring out that tux...
happy new year everybody!!!
