Had to sit around and wait for the water heater guy to show up this morning (no hot water) so I thought I would play around with LR some.

Here is a shot I took last November at SMNP. I was just beginning to use LR at the time and really only used presets. I am not as "afraid" to make manual adjustments now. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the new edit. I still have a ways to go but I feel like I have finally made some ground in understanding LR some.

Original Edit:

I would do a Grad Filter (M on your keyboard, then make adjustments) from lower right corner to bottom of the falling water, then try to lower the exposure, add some contrast, etc.

Other than that, you've done a lot to make the image work better!

I never would have done or thought of that. Thank you! Here is my attempt of your suggestion.

and bringing the filter up a littler higher in the shot:

The last is a really good shot of The Sinks. Congrats on your success.

Most of the newer software options yield some rewards. I had a similar experience when I went from using Canon DPP and Elements to using Bridge/CameraRaw/Photoshop6. I'm sure each year will see Adobe uping the ante and providing us with more control over processing.

So, don't throw away any RAW file. It may turn out to be a winner with newer processing software.

Thanks for the input. I am very happy with the last edit. Now I have another tool I can use in the editing process. Again, thank you.
