I find that if I shoot ISO 800 or higher indoor I get a bunch of noise in my photos.

What do you guys recommend for noise reduction? Is there a good plugin for photoshop etc?
Thanks

That doesnt sound right. Are you certain you are getting your exposure nailed, as underexposure pushed in post accentuates noise. Can you post a sample?

ISO 800 on the 5D II is fairly clean when exposed properly.

Try shooting slightly over exposed and you'll find the noise will be a lot less. You can drag exposure down slightly in post without it showing noise up, but if you under expose even slightly you'll make more noise appear. As above says though, at ISO800 there should be virtually no noise at all.

Must be underexposed a tad and pushing it. Will try slight overexposure and bringing it down and see what happens

-Are there good noise reductions programs available though?

Never push

You should have at least 2/3 stops of overhead in exposure to recover in post.

LR4/ACR7 does a good job in NR. DPP has good chroma NR.
IMO, that's all you will need. The 5D2 should produce fine prints on A3 even at ISO 3200 without any additional NR.

If you think you need more NR, have a look at NoiseNinja (external link), NeatImage (external link) or Noiseware (external link).

I've run the gamut with NR tools: TLR, Noise Ninja, others.... I now use Nik dFine because, at least for me, it is far better.
