Try out the 35mm f/1.4L tonight (the second one is 35mm with ISO1600).

The first one is with 24-70 @ ISO3200.

It's quite shape, but I only have it for 2 days, don't have time to really try it out. For 20D, I will go for 16-35, 14-70, 24L (I don't have this), or 12-22 (as most of the suggest).
