$1500? Dang. For that much i'd save the little extra and get the 2.8 instead.

Wow, Canon must be paying Nikon $200 a cap for the use of Nikon lens caps. It would also explain the suborbital price for those lenses. (Leica have orbital prices)

Wow... Did not expect $1500 to be honest. $1200 at most (around $1000 in a 'kit')

Good luck canon...

you better release a 12-24 2.8 or 4 soon...

something people want...

p.s. - work on a new sensor

It's like you are overcompensating for lack of better sensor and compact system.

Take a look at what Ford did. Don't be a GM.

Don't forget the included lens hood (for the 35mm/f2)!

I seriously am starting to hate Canon. Every decision they have made since about 2009 seems awful.

The thing that's really a bummer (about Canon's recent releases/prices), is it allows 3rd party Mfgr's to increase their prices sharply, without losing sales. Only the customers lose.

lol. They already put out a 24-70 f/2.8L Mk II and I certainly want that.

A 12-24 2.8...not so much. Wouldn't mind that zoom range but it doesn't need to be 2.8 since it would be mostly a landscape lens at that range.

It looks like a nice lens ( great small size ). I am assuming it will have the awesome 70-300L optics. I honestly had no problem jumping on that for $1500 because I am getting a good 300mm lens but even if this lens is outstanding I won't pay $1500 for it. The 35 2.0 is worth considering for $850, at least they give you a hood.
