I'm from australia.. purchased VML a couple of days ago and it got shipped today.

The battery version is correct (230v for australia) and the cable which goes from my strobe light to the battery is correct as well (Australian 3 pin).. but the charger supplied with the VML to charge it from australian outlets is a US two pin charger..

If I simply buy a coverter plug from a local store which converts 2 pin US to Australian charger will it work? considering that the actual voltage is 230v for the battery (so that does not have to be converted).

From the PaulCBuff web site:

Battery Charging: The battery is charged with the supplied 3-hour rapid battery charger, plugged into a standard AC wall outlet. For use internationally, a simple outlet adapter may be used on the VM3CA battery charging cable (100-260VAC charging).

Adapter, or find a cable that has the same plug that fits into the charger.

BTW, the battery is about 18V. Its the AC output from the inverter that's 230V. Same battery for either VML unit. And also the same charger. Not supplying a voltage specific cable is probably a cost saving consideration.
