Very nicely done - it is not what I expected, and explores an angle that I don't think we often see.

It looks like you took good advantage of an evenly lit overcast day to frender some wonderful detail and shapes. The hills look like wonderful mounds of overlapping feathers in cascading patterns. The only challenge with this - and I've fallen into this trap myself - is the lack of a sense of scale. We know this is a LARGE scene, but because there are no people of structures of man, we don't have a good reference point for showing us just how large it is. This is not criticism of the picture - that is well done. Are we 100' from the objects or one mile from the mound? It's an interesting illusion. - Stu

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. This image is around 25,000 pixels wide at full resolution. When printed huge, you will be able to walk up and identify the details to really grasp the scale.

You're welcome ;). That is QUITE substantial a attractively rendered.

By any chance was that in the Badlands of the Dakota's? My wife and I enjoying hiking and of course the camera always comes along. I did some medium format film shots in the Badlands and Tetons about 10 years ago and was very pleased with the results. But viewed as just an 8x10 I ran into the "sense of scale issue."

Now anytime I do work like that I always take some without people, and then at least a couple with people or man-made objects to create a sense of scale.
