I'm going to be doing some individual and couples portraits at a couple retirement homes in a few weeks and have looked at the Westcott x-drop system. Instead of their flimsy stand, I'll make my own out of PVC. They have very few choices for backdrops and was wondering if anyone has any idea for better options. Other than bright blue or bright green, and the collapsible backdrops, I can't find anything else.

If anyone can provide another source, I'd really appreciate it.

Have you checked Adorama? They have Westcott's x-drops as well as many others.

I just got the Wescott X-Drop system. I thinks it great for single portrait situations, sets up in less than a minute. I got the "mist" muslin and change the colors with colored gels on a background light. Yes its flimsy but very light to carry around. Want something a bit bigger for a couple? Take a look at the Calumet background system. Similar concept to Wescott but bigger, like 8 x 8 feet and sturdier.

Tools: Canon 5DmkII, Sony a6400, Fujifilm X100V

Thanks for all the help fellas. I do like the Calumet system and maybe down the road I'll get a bit more serious. I do wish Westcott had a few more choices in backdrops.
