Hi all,
I could not find a straightforward answer to this with search, so...

Those who have more experiences with 1DX, what is the true battery life, e.g. when shooting sports?

My 1D3 has simply tremendous battery life in indoor sports shooting - more than 5000 frames with a single charge. I suspect the 1DX has considerably lower battery life, but how much smaller?

Thanks in advance!

It isn't much different than my 1D4 - perhaps 10-15% less?

Can I get other thoughts on how many shots 1DX can actually handle with full charge? I'll be shooting around 1500 shots this weekend (sports), but wasn't sure if I'd need additional battery. Above post clearly gives me confidence that I shouldn't need another battery... Thanks!

On 600 shots I'll have about 74% left on my battery. So I would say your fine with one battery.

I actually ended up buying a brand new spare battery, just in case something goes wrong. BUT I didn't end up using it at all. I took about 1450 shots with 70% battery left. When I finished there was still about 15% left. It's all good!!

wish i had seen this thread a few hours ago, i just charged my battery for the second time (first time was straight out the box).
i did note when i did the last download before i charged it that it had 25% battery remaining (according to DPP)
my shutter count is at 1126. i have my cam set to shoot both RAW and JPEG to the same card, i use IS most of the time (bcos i shoot mostly sports), and am yet to use high speed burst and have only used low speed burst twice
hope this helps
