From what I understand the AF on the 60D is a bit slower than on the 7D. I was wondering, will the AF on a 60D be able to keep up for aviation shots? Anyone do aviation shoots with a 60D?

I think after a while, what you find is auto focus performance comes down to lens aperture, light and subject contrast. John Lackey

From actual use at real events, the 60D has been able to handle images of quick and fast moving subjects in the air and on the ground. There are no problems.

Anyone do aviation shoots with a 60D? it's easy to get plenty of great air show shots with a Rebel XSi (450D) and 55-250IS or 100-400 so I would say yes, the AF on a 60D should keep up for aviation shots
