I took these at a friends wedding a few weeks ago, where I was a guest. Just wanted to share and get some feedback on how to improve. C&C Welcome.

Thanks in advance

The blacks are a little lost in 1, leaving the groom kind of floating around.

Overall the thing holding back the images is the direct flash. Either move to off-camera flash, bounce the flash, and/or introduce more of the ambient light (if there is any). Direct flash results in flat lighting on faces and harsh shadows (see behind them in 2).

3 is pretty cool in terms of the composition. I think it would have been improved had you swivelled the camera lower so that you caught the 'knot' tying these two together: their joined hands.

Yep you're pretty spot on about the flash, I'd previously only shot landscapes at night using a tripod, so I'd never saw the need for one. After taking a few shots early that night, I quickly realized I needed one (It's on my christmas list)

I see what you mean about #3 and the blacks in #1 (Got a little heavy handed in LR).

Thanks for taking time to provide the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it.

First one I agree - they are floating in a very black background, and the second one, the shadows are very harsh. Third one is a nice moment, but you cut off her hand, and the groom isn't in focus.
