At our venue we don't have a pit or fence off the audience but they aren't allowed to belly up to the stage until the last two or three songs. René Damkot wrote in post #15229506 Good set. I think you've hit it on the head there. I shoot every year at a 2-day music festival here, and I typically have a chance to meet and speak with the bands before their sets. Most don't care one way or the other about my being there, some go out of their way to be helpful (e.g. telling me when they plan on doing some goofy stunt, etc.), and others are extremely difficult to work with. In the latter cases, it's usually not the band members themselves, but rather their managers...
