This question had to be asked already but I need to know if there is a good P&S out there that will give me the quality of images I get with my 450D and 100mm f/2.8 macro? Finding myself not wanting to change lenses so often. Had a Canon Sx10IS but wasn't happy with the noise/distortion on the zoom. We have lots of wildlife in our backyard and the 100mm just doesn't reach to take those pics. Thanks......

a Point & Shoot as good as a DSLR with a dedicated macro lens? No, there isn't.
But, if you get a decent P&S with good macro capabilities, you'll enjoy its larger
depth of field, unlike the shallowness of the larger DSLR sensor / lens combo.
Something like the G15 could be excellent in this aspect. Also in any other aspect, really.

Check out the usual suspect superzooms. Canon SX50, Fuji X-S1, Panasonic FZ200, Tons of zoom; macro; pretty good IQ for what they are (though not up to your DSLR).

Having looked at quite a few including the RX100 I'm going to be picking up a Lumix LX7 next payday.
