first B & W attempt

This is a pic of my cousin. I was playing with my XT and was trying out the fps. Told her to act like a model and I clicked away. She was happy with ALL the shots but said the B & W was her favorite(I sent 10 shots to wallys world, since walmart has 10 free prints 4x6). Now she wants me to take a few shots of her and her hubby. How can I make the photo better?
