Well I got it the other day. Not too many companies putting out catalogues these days. Worked in print media for over 30 years and just started a consulting gig at the company I used to work for. It has all the equipment to produce that style catalogue from start to finish. It has been 4 years since I stepped into a printing plant.

That is one expensive and complex process. B&H must be doing well to fund that. Good for them and it is great to see they are keeping the printers employed.

If you've ever been to their retail store you will see why they can afford it. I haven't seen an electronics store that busy in years.

One of our travel destinations for a weekend romp is NY. I would love to see B&H. Ordered a 600EX RT on Monday to be shipped by ground and I would have had it on Thursday if Purolator did not have a little hick up. First time that ever happened. Picked it up today.

So how are you making out down there? Can't believe Sandy kicked you around and then a winter storm. Hope all is well.

Getting a big snowstorm up here but that is BBQ weather for us. We just started putting away our summer shorts and are pulling out our winter shorts

I know what you mean. I too worked in a printing plant and that kind of binding takes a special machine to run those. It's not like the staple bind magazines or catalogs you see. Totally different.

No way. Man when you are used to power that must have been tough. I have a cottage in Canadian boreal forrest. After about 30 years we finally got hydro two years ago and it changed our lives.

We used to run on solar, propane, wood stove and generators. On the Canadian thanksgiving weekend we had a freak winter storm that took the power out. Still had our thanksgiving weekend with friends. Kept one generator as a back up, wood stove provided heat and we kept our propane stove as my wife prefers to cook on a gas style stove.

We took a week vacation and were going to go home on Tuesday (we went up on Saturday) because we have become so spoiled - and that was only after 2 years. I can't imagine losing power for so long when you rely on it for every day life. Glad to hear you got it back. Must be a huge relief.

If your free weekend day is a Saturday, your time will be best spent elsewhere. They are closed on Saturdays.

It was really rough. Luckily we have a wood stove so it was used for our heat/cooking needs.

That stove was your lifeboat. Now you will never get rid of it ;)

B&H recently asked me if I still wanted to get the catalog in print. I opted out since I never read it.
