Here's an early morning shot of a pier along the northern shore of Lake Ponchartrain @ Fontainebleau State Park in Southeast Louisiana.

Everything works,... composition, exposure, clouds, water,... but that danged tree is distracting. Short of backing your pickup up to it and hooking up a chain,... naw, they wouldn't let you do that. I would be tempted to try cloning out the tree.

Thanks y'all....
Jon...you are correct, they would not let me touch that tree! Besides, I don't know if my MiniCooper would pull it out! I might try cloning it out.

Good picture. I like composition colors and lighting and contrary to Jon I appreciate that presence of the tree. I agree that it could be distracting but for me it adds a stark contraposition between man-made structure of the pier and a nature-created now dead tree.

I tried removing the tree, but in the end, I liked it there. Just personal preference I guess.

Were the clouds moving fast or do they look that way through PP? Lovely photo BTW!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
