I like composition colors and lighting and contrary to Jon I appreciate that presence of the tree. I agree that it could be distracting but for me it adds a stark contraposition between man-made structure of the pier and a nature-created now dead tree.

I tried removing the tree, but in the end, I liked it there. Just personal preference I guess. “too much stuff, too little time"
