Well i managed to get up to the bridge over the festive period and take some photos. The advice i got from shiato and JEg649 in an earlier thread was much appreciated.

Both shots wer taken on the same night, around 30mins apart.

Comments and critique are welcome and much appreciated.

Although the 2nd one has a warmer sky , the 1st one seems alot warmer overall with nice colours.

Take the sky from 2 and comb with 1.

Stunning

Thanks for the comments people. Glad you liked them.

Dinitri. Id love to combive the two but im not sure my skills with PS are quite there yet. I agree though i prefer the warm quality of the first (even though the lens flare annoys me a tad). Maybe ill have a go next time im down, but for now im going to plan my Glen Coe visit!!!

Cant wait.

Thats great Dimitri. Can you fill me in on what you did? The colours lookma little more saturated to me, love the effect.

Thanks for the kind words Alan. And i look forward to seeing your take o0n the picture Greg.

Well,at first i tryed to combine the 2 shots but because they were taken from a different angle it was a bit hard.

Also on the one i liked, there was a halo above the first tower.

So,i got the other one and first worked with shadow/highlights.(you have to be very carefull here because it can couse you halos).;)

After i brought up the forground and down the sky,it was time to work on it with the sponge/dodge/burn tools , not alot , just where it needs it.

Then i had to bring a bit of warmth to the FG and especially the 2 towers, select them and use the red on curves to make them much with the rest of the sceene.

All these things were done using layers (so you can adjust the oppacity to your liking at any time).

Hope you liked it and hope i have helped with the above (and not confused you).

Absolutely not. I surprised myself by understanding all of what you said. The halo on the first shot does bother me a little and was a consequence of how i blended the first two images together. Im going to have a go at removing it soon but the early results using the clone tool really wasnt very good. But ill keep trying, and until then ill have a go at your technique on my copy too.
