I found one of these locally for a good price, but don't know a whole lot about it. I think it can be adapted pretty easily. I don't have a prime lens in this focal length so this seems pretty interesting. Any thoughts? I couldn't find an example of this lens in the MF adapted thread. Thanks for your help.

The Canon 85 f1.8 is only about $300 and has some of the fastest AF of any Canon lens. The Rokinon/Samyang 85 f1.4 is only about $250, and is fantastically sharp. I would need to get a killer deal (like $100) to consider a Nikon f1.8 over those two options.

The Nikon 35 f1.4 or 50/55 f1.2 would be a different story.

I have the newer Nikkor AI-S 85mm f/2, which on day I'll adapt along with my other Nikkors.

I haven't used this lens for many years but from what I remember, it's sharp,, very bloody sharp. I don't see why the f/1.8 would be any different. It's also quite a small lens, 52mm front accessory thread,, much smaller than the Canon 85mm f/1.8.
