Studio Dance Shots - for scholarships

Earlier this year we had done some head shots for these young ladies, and this weekend we were asked to do some dance studio shots for submission with scholarship applications. Had a blast, even if I was a little sick :(

Couple more from the same session...

I used three ABs for this session (one 400 and two 800s). Key light was through a giant PCB softbox with a grid. Fill was through a gridded PCB strip soft box, and rim lighting was through a non-gridded PCB strip box. Although there were some fluorescent lights int he studio, as well as a couple of windows, the ambient light was essentially negligible.

This was my first time shooting dancers in "action" (not really action shots...). Would be interested in constructive critique, especially form others who regularly do this type of work.

Really like #1, and the pointe shoes.... The B&W would look better in sepia I think...
