So I am trying to help a friend with her printer. She wrote:

printing some photos on my Canon Pro9000 and it prints about 5 photos before they start coming out all wonky. The ink is completely wet, and the photos look like mosaic tiles. HELP!! Does anyone have a clue what went wrong?

Any of you have this problem? i haven't and don't know what to tell her. Any help would be appreciated.

First thing I would ckeck is she using 3rd party inks....I know they are cheaper, but cheaper can also get you into trouble.

EOS 6d, 7dMKII, Tokina 11-16, Tokina 16-28, Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8, Sigma 17-50 F/2.8, Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L, Canon 70-200 F/2.8L, Mixed Speedlites and other stuff.

When it ceases to be fun, it will be time to walk away

If it is not third party inks, it might need a trip to Canon. I have been using Canon printers for years, and a 9000 for about 8 months, and I have never had a single instance when it laid down extra ink.

Same here, canon inks and paper. Software and drivers all up to date?

She is using Canon inks, I confirmed that. I don't know about the drivers.

canon inks and paper

choice of paper should not explain why they look good initial but deteriorate when she prints more than a few. Also, that printer can handle a wide variety of papers just fine. I use the 9000 II, and none of my standard papers are Canon. I use Moab and Red River.

I would think that even if she was using cheap paper, she would have issues from print #1, not print #6. How long has she had it?
