This is my favorite picture of our dog who passed away suddenly this morning. My screen name is a reflection of him, his name is Kona. He was named after our honeymoon stay in Hawaii, and 2 years before we ever got him.

It is a great loss to our family as he was a wonderful friend. This is a picture of him a couple of months after his 2 neck surgeries in which he was totally paralyzed for 3 weeks but made an excellent recovery.

Just thought I would share him with everyone else.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Losing a loved pet is always difficult. That is a great shot and sounds like it will be a good one with which to remember him.

So sorry for your loss. My little dog died in October and I do miss her, the house seems so quiet. Your pal looks like he is smiling in that picture.

Gosh..I remember when we kept losing one of our Great Danes when they were 6-7 years old. Nonsense. Poor fellas. We switched to Chihuahuas :p Three times the life span, and a bit easier to snuggle with!

Sorry to hear about your loss..maybe you'll have a new friend sooner than you think.

There's really nothing anyone can say that makes you feel better, but know that there are hundreds of us out here that have been through it, are headed for it, or are trying not to think about it. I have a lab, now 15, that has graced Field & Stream, Ducks Unlimited, numerous calendars, Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine and numerous other publications. His 16 yr old partner is a German Shorthair that is the best pheasant dog I have ever had. They have been with me since they were born and I know that day is coming. Best wishes.
