So I've had a lot of DSLR bodies over the years... having had a business for a number of years, but now gravitating back into advanced hobby stage. At one point I had 5 1D Series bodies and a couple of xxD also. So for the last few years I've been happy with a 1D3 and 50D, shooting mostly sports. Over the last year I debated buying a 7D to replace the 50D, and a few times debated selling them both and getting 2 7Ds. I never did either. A couple weeks ago I bit the bullet and bought a 5D3, primarily because I wanted a better AF system than my 1D3 and couldn't afford a 1DX. I also do a lot of indoor low light sports.

When I bought the 5D3, I fully intended to sell either the 1D3, or both it and the 50D, depending on my satisfaction. I'm plenty satisfied. But, I am thinking I may want a slightly smaller crop camera to use for daily shooting with the 18-200 IS that I have on the 50D. A 7D is appealing because its a little faster and more similar to the 5D3. Then I looked at the prices a 50D and 1D3 are going for. Compared to a new 7D, I'd only net a couple hundred at most. So I am thinking that having the 50D and 1D3 is better than having a 7D. But I'm kind of locked up on the whole thing. One minute I'm thinking I should just sell them both and then wait out a new 7D in the future. The next I want to keep both. The next I want the 7D.

Anyone else ever get locked up in this kind of thing.

Of course, if that's not bad enough, I'm in the process of converting my collection of 580EX I Speedlites and accessories to 600EX-RTs.... and of course I'm looking at all my lenses like the 70-200 IS and thinking that if I want the ultimate kit, I should sell and upgrade to the II models.

I have it bad right now!

Keep what you have and enjoy!
I would love to have the setup you have
5d3,1d3 and 50d is a very well rounded setup.

Yes, but I'm supposed to be thinning out the kid a bit... at least that is what I told my wife when I advised her that a lot of boxes would be showing up via UPS! :)

Yogi, I think I may just do that! I just sold my 50D and grip, and have a bite on the 1D3. Hopefully that will be done soon. Last 580EX going tomorrow, and have two 600EXs. Now that I'm committed to full frame for a while, I will need to pick up another lens to walk around with... but that is another thread. Thanks for the input guys. I'll be happy learning the 5D3 and whenever a 7Dsomething comes out, I will probably be ready for a new toy.
