Has anyone used this yet? My girlfriend just got a new i7 laptop and I bought her lightroom this afternoon on sale, she's big into photography as well. I have used lightroom 3 at my school but it was pretty much a slow version of photoshop. Not so anymore, go watch tutorials and you will see... It has come a long way. You can paint in different white balance temperatures, paint exposures, and the brush used to mask can adapt to surroundings. I think it would be a very nice tool for someone who is just getting into astrophotography editing and does not have the big bucks to shell out for photoshop. I got my copy for $85 and I think it is normally $124. Download the demo and see if you like it, it is a great addition to freeware like DSS and registax. So far my favorite feature is the ability to open a 32bit HDR .TIF file in lightroom, stacked first in CS5. It allows you to use lightroom's editing tools and masks without the overly simple tools provided by HDR pro in CS5. If you have used lightroom then you may know that you dont use layers, but you can apply masks on specific areas, this is fantastic when editing with 32bits of headroom because you can literally paint out blown highlights and bring in details lost in shadows. Also the histogram is now broken into darks, shadows, higlights, and whites which makes for easy adjustments of saturation and whatever else you can think of. Does anyone else with lightroom 4 experience have thoughts or comments? I feel like I am just cracking the shell on this one so any beneficial tips would be great.

There's plenty talk about Lightroom 4 on these forums if you look up the Raw, post processing section of the forum, in fact I'm sure there's a sticky at the top for Lightroom threads. It's a great tool to use and very easy once you grasp the basics.
